Considering the need to implement rigorous processes for validating the quality of national secondary school exam results, for the sake of transparency and fairness among all students, the JNE/EduQA carried out supplementary validation processes on a limited set of exams, approximately 1400 exams nationwide, out of a total of 290,351 exams, in order to ensure that the results presented in the official records had the necessary consistency.

This guide is intended for school principals and their designated staff, describing the necessary steps to provide students, through the Examination Monitoring Centre application, with a PDF copy of the examination they have taken, following a request to view the examination or direct delivery to the student/guardian at the initiative of the school administration.

The digital marking process for external assessment tests is a highly complex technical and organisational operation, involving thousands of graders, hundreds of thousands of student responses, and a set of demanding procedures designed to ensure fairness among students and the validity of the results.

The Institute for Education, Quality and Evaluation (EduQA, IP) informs that the documents for the competitive procedure no. CPI/01/EduQA/2026 are available for consultation.

Following recently released information regarding the digitisation of external assessment tests, EduQA considers it necessary to clarify that the information stating that Eulália Ramos Alexandre is not involved in this process is false. 

Following recent news reports regarding alleged guidelines for teachers to complete the marking of seemingly incomplete responses, EduQA clarifies that the guidelines issued by EduQA/JNE do not cover the situation described.
