Educational initiatives

At the beginning of this academic year, IPO Lisboa presented the "Health 360º: Literacy for Youth" project, aimed at secondary school students, which intends to promote health literacy and help young people access credible information, develop critical thinking, and make conscious and informed choices.

There's still time to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the INSPIRE program to attend the activities on the Main Stage of the Web Summit, at the Meo Arena in Lisbon, free of charge for one day (between November 9th and 12th).

Ubbu is an online platform with the social mission of preparing all children for the new digital society through the teaching of Computer Science and Programming. It aims to contribute to positioning Portugal at the forefront of the development of computational thinking and digital literacy among students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycles of Basic Education in public schools. In 2026/2027, the platform will reinforce the content of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, broadening the scope of digital literacy worked on in the classroom.

The second evaluation of the European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children (BIK+) is currently underway, aiming to gather the opinions of education professionals on children's online experiences and support needs in this area.

GERAt – Territory, Talent, Tourism is an educational initiative promoted by Turismo de Portugal, in partnership with EduQA, IP, that transforms the local territory into a learning environment.

The "School Alert!" 2026/2027 competition is now open. The Institute for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, IP (IDiPD), invites all schools, students and teachers from Pre-School to Secondary Education to participate in the "School Alert!" 2026/2027 competition.

The 5th edition of TOP – the National Oratory Tournament, promoted by TOP TALKS – the Portuguese Oratory Association, is aimed at students between 14 and 16 years old. The main objective of TOP – the National Oratory Tournament is to promote the development of oral communication skills, public speaking, argumentation, speech structuring, and self-confidence.

With the theme "When the world dresses in colours," the 9th edition of the National Multilingual Kamishibai Competition is open to national educational structures, Portuguese Education Abroad (EPE), and educational structures in Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) that welcome children and young people aged 3 to 15.
