On October 28th and 29th, 2026, EduQA Rio in Lisbon will host the 5th and final Transnational Meeting of the VR4 Empathy Project, bringing together European partners for two days of review, reflection, and planning of the project's final activities.

Funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, VR4 Empathy – Using Virtual Reality for Inclusive and Action-Oriented Empathy in Schools – seeks to explore the potential of virtual reality in an educational context, particularly in promoting students' cognitive empathy and developing more inclusive digital education practices. The project includes the creation and implementation of virtual reality-based educational resources in schools, as well as the development of a quality framework and recommendations for their classroom use.

The VR4 project consortium comprises seven entities from four European countries: Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, and Denmark. It is coordinated by INOVA+ and includes EduQA, the Slovenian Ministry of Education, the Greek Institute for Educational Policy, the University of Ljubljana, the University of the Peloponnese, and the Danish company Khora, which specializes in the development of virtual reality-based digital resources.

Throughout the first day, partners will analyze the work developed within the framework of implementing virtual reality educational resources in different countries and reflect on ways for their future use. On the second day, the work will focus on communicating and disseminating the results, preparing the national final events, and drafting the final reports.

This final meeting thus constitutes a privileged moment to consolidate the results achieved, share experiences and lessons learned, and also to envision the continuity of European cooperation regarding the responsible, inclusive, and pedagogically sound use of virtual reality in education.
