Young readers, young writers?

Last Friday, May 29th, the Lisbon Book Fair hosted a round table discussion entitled "Young readers, young writers?", dedicated to reflecting on the relationship between the pleasure of reading and the pleasure of writing.

The initiative brought together winners and finalists from two editions of the Higher Education Reading Competition (2024 and 2025), who shared experiences and perspectives in a lively conversation that also included audience participation.

The session was part of the National Reading Plan (PNL) program at the Lisbon Book Fair, an event where the PNL has been present for the fourth consecutive year, promoting a diverse set of activities aimed at audiences of different ages.

On Thursdays, at Praça Azul, the Reading Clinic reopens its doors from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In this space, visitors can receive personalized reading suggestions and clarify questions related to their reading habits, as well as obtain information about PNL projects.

On June 5th, at 6:00 PM, at Praça Azul, the round table discussion “What does it mean to read as a family?” will take place, proposing a reflection on how this practice is built: with whom we read, what we read, why, and how.

On June 12th, at 6:00 PM, also in Praça Azul, the round table “Reading Clubs: what trend is this?” will take place, in which those responsible for reading clubs will discuss, among other aspects, how these spaces welcome and retain readers, including new audiences.
