9th edition of the Multilingual Kamishibai Contest

With the theme "When the world dresses in colors," the 9th edition of the National Multilingual Kamishibai Competition is open to national educational structures, Portuguese Education Abroad (EPE), and educational structures in Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) that welcome children and young people aged 3 to 15.

Organized by the Language Education Laboratory ( LabELing ), the Research Center in Didactics and Technology in Teacher Training ( CIDTFF ), and the Department of Education and Psychology of the University of Aveiro , a partner of the Kamilala International Network, the competition aims to encourage educational agents to develop projects open to linguistic and cultural diversity through the creation of multilingual kamishibai boards ( support guide ).

Kindergartens, primary, middle and high schools, after-school programs, libraries, private early childhood education structures and educational structures from Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) are eligible to participate.

The registration period ends on October 31, 2026. Those interested should complete the registration form by that date.

The multilingual kamishibai (storytelling form) and the logbook must be submitted by March 31, 2027.

A jury composed of professionals from the book, education, illustration, literature, and arts fields will be responsible for selecting three award winners: one kamishibai winner per age group (3-6 years, 7-10 years, and 11-15 years).

We would like to inform you that a training course accredited by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education (CCPFC) on multilingual kamishibai is planned for those interested.
