Notice of Opening of the Competition
The "School Alert!" 2026/2027 competition is now open.

The Institute for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, IP (IDiPD), invites all schools, students and teachers from Pre-School to Secondary Education to participate in the "School Alert!" Competition 2026/2027.

This initiative challenges children and young people to reflect on the rights of people with disabilities, to identify barriers that hinder participation and inclusion, and to present innovative solutions that contribute to building a more accessible, inclusive, and equitable society for all.

This edition of the competition begins in the year in which the Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2026-2030 (EDPD 2026-2030) was published, approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 64-A/2026, of March 31, which has the mission of ensuring that all persons with disabilities, throughout the national territory, can fully exercise their rights, live autonomously and participate actively in social, economic, political and cultural life, under conditions of equal opportunities, with respect for diversity and human dignity.

This edition of “Escola Alerta!” takes on a particularly special significance as it covers part of 2027, the year in which IDiPD celebrates its 50th anniversary. This milestone marks five decades of commitment to promoting the rights of people with disabilities and building a Portugal that is increasingly accessible, inclusive, and respectful of human diversity.

More than a competition, "Escola Alerta!" is an invitation to exercise active citizenship, creativity, and participation. It's an opportunity to give voice to the ideas of young people, promote change, and contribute to making the school and the community spaces where everyone can fully participate.
