EduQA informs that the accreditation of the Resource Centers for Inclusion (CRI) has been extended, ensuring the continuity of their intervention and the stability of the responses provided to schools, children and students, families and educational communities.
This decision falls within the current process of revising Decree-Law No. 54/2018, of July 6, which establishes the legal framework for inclusive education. Within the scope of this legislative review, the creation of a specific decree is planned to regulate, in a specific manner, the operation, organization, accreditation, and intervention of Resource Centers for Inclusion.
In this context, it was considered that opening a new application procedure for the accreditation of CRIs, before the approval of the new regulatory framework, could lead to the application of criteria and requirements that are likely to change in the near future.
Thus, the extension of accreditation ensures the continuity of the CRI's activity, simultaneously guaranteeing the stability of the system during the legislative transition period and avoiding administrative procedures that could prove inappropriate in light of the new legal framework.
