The webinar “ Rigitivation and Integration in Secondary Education “, led by Jaime Carvalho e Silva (Retired Professor from the Department of Mathematics at FCTUC), will take place on October 22nd at 6:00 PM. The webinar aims to present the chosen approach for this 12th-grade elective topic, which involves, on the one hand, working with antiderivation as the inverse operation of differentiation, and, on the other hand, using the integral to calculate areas of non-polygonal figures bounded by the graph of continuous functions, using technology to support the identification of the figures.
This webinar will present this approach, what resources are available, what difficulties to expect, and what advantages there are to working on this topic.
This session is part of a series of webinars promoted by the Working Group on Curriculum and Professional Development in Mathematics for Secondary Education, coordinated by Professor Jaime Carvalho e Silva. These sessions aim to promote contact with good pedagogical practices, shared both by the authors of the AE (Academic References) and by practicing teachers.
Please note that each webinar will subsequently be available in Essential Math Learnings , allowing continued access to the content for those interested.
