Applications for the 1st edition of the +Livros no Jardim de Infância (More Books in Kindergarten ) project, promoted by the National Reading Plan, are open from October 6th to 16th, 2026.

The physical and daily presence of books in preschool is crucial for language development and the emergence of writing, for building a reader identity, and is a decisive factor in promoting academic success and lifelong reading habits.

It is within this context that the National Reading Plan promotes the 1st edition of the +Books in Kindergarten project, an initiative that aims to support preschool education establishments in the Portuguese public system, located in mainland Portugal, whose typology is autonomous Kindergarten, in the acquisition of books for their classrooms.

In compliance with the provisions of Order No. 8271/2023, of August 14, as amended, for the 2026/2027 school year, EduQA, IP makes available Circulars No. 2/2026 and No. 3/2026, both of July 28, relating to the allocation of teaching hours, respectively, to school clusters and non-clustered schools promoting Qualifica Centers and to school clusters and non-clustered schools partnering with Qualifica Centers.
