Taking into account the need to implement rigorous processes to validate the quality of the results of the national upper-secondary school examinations, in the interests of transparency and fairness among all pupils, the JNE/EduQA carried out additional validation processes on a limited set of papers – approximately 1,400 examinations at national level, out of a total of 290,351 examinations, in order to ensure that the results to be published had the necessary consistency.
Consequently, so as not to unduly delay the publication of the results of the national examinations, and to avoid disappointing the expectations of the vast majority of pupils and their families, the JNE / EduQA decided, yesterday at 7.30 pm, to give the go-ahead for the process, with the of the National Examinations Board sending the results to schools during the late afternoon and evening yesterday. The examinations, whose results were still missing, were marked with the code (-3) of the ENES programme, which means that they are currently suspended.
However, following the completion of the validation of the results for the outstanding examinations, which took place today, the full lists are now ready to be sent to schools, which is expected to happen in the coming hours; schools will therefore be able to proceed with displaying them from tomorrow.
The JNE / EduQA regrets this delay for several students and their families but has taken this step because it is fully committed to the students and to the quality of external assessment, a process that is fundamental to students’ progress towards higher education or working life.
We would also like to inform you that the registration process for the second phase has been underway since yesterday on the PIEPE platform and will run until next Monday, 20 July.
It should also be noted that pupils will have access to their examinations in digital format, to be provided by the schools, which will make it easier to consult the examinations – an important step towards ensuring the transparency of the process.
In a particularly demanding year, in which the digital transition in external assessment across all levels of education has finally been realised, and in which the system faced challenges and difficulties that demanded the best of us all, we can only express our deep gratitude for all the work carried out, and for the commitment to the mission and to the pupils shown by the marking teachers, teachers from the JNE’s central and regional offices, teachers from the JNE’s digitisation centre, technicians and managers at INCM, technicians and teachers at EduQA, school headteachers and other staff members.
