EduQA establishes training partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo
The Institute for Education, Quality and Evaluation, PI (EduQA) has established a partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo for Teacher Training – Creativity and Critical Thinking. Anabela Serrão, a member of the EduQA Board of Directors, participated in the opening ceremony.
This collaboration marks the start of the Professional Development Programme: Training for Teacher Trainers – Creativity and Critical Thinking, a micro-accredited training programme aimed at strengthening essential skills in teacher training, with a special focus on the areas of science and mathematics, and with trainers from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
More than just a training activity, the programme constitutes an innovative model for the dissemination of skills, promoting the pedagogical use of international benchmarks within the scope of the PISA for Schools project, which is being implemented in Portugal by EduQA in 150 schools.

Culture, history and education: Roma/Gypsy in the Portuguese context
The second edition of the training course Roma Culture, History and Education in the Portuguese Context took place in 17-18 April and 8-9 May 2026, in Figueira da Foz, and was funded by the project RomaMemory. This training course was a partnership between the Council of Europe/Roma and Travellers Division and the joint European Union and Council of Europe project Equality and Freedom from Discrimination for Roma: Roma Holocaust Remembrance and Education (RomaMemory), the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation/Institute for Education, Quality and Evaluation, P.I. (EduQA, I.P.) and the University of Minho. Roma Culture, History and Education in the Portuguese Context is a trainers training course, which aims to prepare trainers at Teacher Training Centres (CFAE) to facilitate the training in their regions (mainland Portugal).
