On October 28 and 29, 2026, EduQA Rio, in Lisbon, hosted the 5th and final Transnational Meeting of the VR4Empathy Project – Using Virtual Reality for Inclusive and Action-Oriented Empathy in Schools .
Funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme, the VR4 Empathy Project explores the potential of virtual reality in promoting students' cognitive empathy and developing more inclusive digital educational practices.
The event brought together partners from the seven entities that make up the project consortium: INOVA+ and EduQA, from Portugal; the Ministry of Education and the University of Ljubljana, from Slovenia; the Institute for Educational Policy and the University of the Peloponnese, from Greece; and Khora, a Danish company specializing in the development of digital resources based on virtual reality.
Over the course of two days of work, the partners assessed the implementation of virtual reality educational resources in the different countries (Greece, Slovenia, and Portugal), shared experiences and lessons learned, and reflected on their future use in a school context. The work also focused on the communication and dissemination of results, the preparation of final events at national and international levels, and the drafting of final reports.
This latest meeting allowed us to consolidate the results achieved and to look ahead to the continuation of European cooperation around a responsible, inclusive and pedagogically sound use of virtual reality in education.
