As part of World Investor Week 2026, which runs from October 1st to 9th, schools across the country are invited to participate in the "Financial Literacy Hour in Schools" initiative, which will take place on October 2nd at 11:00 AM.

The Institute for Education, Quality and Evaluation (EduQA) is partnering to promote this nationwide project, aligned with the global campaign of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), which aims to raise awareness of the importance of financial education and investor protection.

The initiative aims to provide children and young people with practical knowledge about money management, saving, and digital security in the field of financial literacy, through playful and educational activities adapted to different educational levels.

– 1st cycle of basic education: a card game, played in groups, that addresses concepts such as "needs," "wants," and "savings." Students are challenged to manage a certain amount of money and achieve a savings goal;

– 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education: a board game entitled “Finances Tailored to Your Needs”, developed by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), with two difficulty levels, adapted to the age groups of 10 to 12 and 13 to 15 years. The game includes a deck of 52 cards with questions on topics such as donations, expenses and savings;

– Secondary Education: a logic game in Murdoku format (a logic game that mixes the classic deduction of Sudoku with the investigation of crimes and murder mysteries), which challenges students to unravel a mystery related to the theme of digital fraud. The activity is accompanied by support materials for teachers to further explore and discuss the topic.

Teachers and educational institutions interested in participating must complete the registration form provided for this purpose by September 24th. Meeting this deadline is essential, especially for classes in the 2nd and 3rd cycles, in order to guarantee the timely production and shipment of physical board games to participating schools.
