The proposed revision of the Essential Learning Outcomes for basic and upper-secondary education is currently open for public consultation.

This process is the result of work developed throughout 2025, with the participation of professional associations, scientific societies and experts, and is now being made available by EduQA for consultation by interested parties.

The revision aims to reinforce the clarity, coherence, and guiding nature of the Essential Learnings, integrating the experience of implementation in schools.

Among the main changes, the following stand out: the harmonisation of documents, the clarification of the assessment process with the introduction of performance descriptors, and the link with Citizenship and Development.

The final party of the Kids Voting event celebrated books, reading, and civic participation.

On 28 May, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation hosted the closing ceremony of the 2025-2026 edition of "Kids Vote," an initiative promoted by the School Libraries Network that, for the tenth consecutive year, challenged children and young people from all over the country to choose their favourite books.

National PISA for Schools Seminar highlights the role of data in improving learning.

The Caldas da Rainha Cultural and Congress Center hosted the National PISA for Schools Seminar on July 8th, promoted by the Institute for Education, Quality and Evaluation (EduQA). The event brought together around 300 participants, including OECD representatives, researchers, school principals, municipal and intermunicipal officials, teachers, and education specialists, to reflect on the potential of educational data in improving learning and building more sustainable educational policies.
