Teaching about the Holocaust and the Roma Genocide is a fundamental tool for promoting human rights, historical memory, and preventing racism, discrimination, and genocide. In this context, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) provides, on its website, a set of reference resources, also accessible in Portuguese, designed to support decision-makers, trainers, and teachers.<\/p>\n

Among these resources, the document entitled IHRA Recommendations for Teaching and Learning about the Holocaust stands out, offering practical guidance for rigorous, inclusive, and historically based teaching. The second edition reinforces aspects such as inclusive education, the use of digital technologies, teacher training, and the use of testimonies and memorial sites, contributing to the development of critical thinking and an understanding of the consequences of antisemitism and other forms of discrimination.<\/p>\n

IHRA also provides the document entitled Recommendations for Teaching and Learning about the Persecution and Genocide of the Roma during the Nazi Era, which supports the integration of the history of the persecution and genocide of the Roma into educational contexts. These recommendations highlight the importance of giving visibility to a frequently unknown history, promoting understanding of its repercussions in the present and reinforcing education for human rights and the prevention of future atrocities.<\/p>\n
